House Rules

Access and hours

• The space is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm EAT. Access outside these hours requires prior written arrangement and may incur an additional charge.
• Your booking confirmation is your access authorisation. You may only use the specific space and time slot confirmed in your booking.
• Sign in at reception upon arrival. All guests and visitors you bring must also sign in and must be accompanied by you at all times.
• Do not grant access to the premises to any person who is not signed in or who has not been authorised by staff.

Noise and conduct

• Speak at a level appropriate to the space. In shared work areas and corridors, keep conversations quiet. Louder activity should be contained within your booked room with the door closed.
• Phone calls and video calls are permitted within your booked space. Step into a private area for calls in shared common areas.
• Treat all other members, guests, and staff with courtesy and respect. Harassing, intimidating, or discriminatory behaviour will result in immediate removal from the premises and suspension of your account.
• Music and audio may only be played through speakers at a level that does not disturb adjacent spaces or other members. Use headphones in shared areas.

Smoking and substances

• Smoking and vaping are permitted only at the designated smoking points on the premises. Signage marks these areas clearly.
• Smoking anywhere else inside or outside the building other than designated points is prohibited and may result in loss of booking without refund.
• Alcohol may only be consumed on the premises during events that have been specifically approved for alcohol service. See the Event Hosting Policy for details.
• Controlled substances are strictly prohibited on the premises at all times.

Equipment and facilities

• Handle all Jikoni equipment, furniture, and fixtures with care. Report any damage or malfunction to staff immediately rather than attempting to fix it yourself.
• You are financially responsible for any damage caused by you or your guests during your booking period.
• Do not move furniture between rooms without staff permission. Return any furniture you rearrange within your booked space to its original position before you leave.
• AV equipment, projectors, and whiteboards are provided for use within your booked session. If you need specific equipment not already in the room, notify us at least 24 hours in advance.
• Wi-Fi is provided for legitimate work purposes. Do not use the network for illegal activity, bulk downloading, or any activity that degrades service for others. Bandwidth-intensive uses (large uploads, streaming) should be discussed with staff in advance.

Kitchen and shared spaces

• The kitchen and common areas are shared spaces. Leave them clean after use. Wash or rinse any dishes or cups you use.
• Do not leave food uncovered or unrefrigerated. Label food stored in shared refrigerators with your name and date. Items not claimed by Friday evening will be discarded.
• Hot drinks and cold beverages may be taken into booked rooms. Full meals should be eaten in the kitchen or designated dining areas to avoid spills on equipment.
• Dispose of waste in the correct bins. Separate recyclables from general waste. Do not leave rubbish in corridors or common areas.

Timekeeping and departure

• Begin setup only from your booking start time. The previous member may still be present if you arrive early.
• Vacate your space completely by the end of your booked time. Running over into the next slot is disrespectful to other members and may result in an additional charge.
• Leave the space in the condition you found it: chairs returned, whiteboards erased, equipment switched off, and any waste disposed of.
• Lost property will be held at reception for 14 days. After that, unclaimed items may be donated or disposed of. Jikoni is not liable for lost or stolen personal belongings.

Photography and recording

• CCTV cameras operate continuously in common areas and corridors for the safety and security of all members. Recording is not carried out inside private booked rooms.
• You may photograph and record within your booked space. You must obtain explicit consent from any other person who appears in your recordings before distributing that content.
• Do not photograph or record other members, guests, or staff without their consent.
• If you would like to feature Ideas House in professional photography, social media, or marketing material, contact us in advance.

Enforcement

Staff may ask anyone who is not following these rules to modify their behaviour or leave the premises. Serious or repeated violations may result in cancellation of your current booking without refund, suspension, or permanent removal from the Jikoni community. These rules are incorporated into the Terms of Service you agreed to when creating your account.
